Ettore Bilotta is the fashion designer chosen by Kuwait Airways to design and produce the new flight crew uniforms. Indeed, in the year of the national airline's seventieth anniversary, an important relaunch project is underway, which foresees a series of cutting-edge services, such as home check-in, limousine services and the introduction of new destinations for summer 2023. This vision of raising standards includes the very important, radical change of style, with the new look for the on-board crew entrusted to Ettore Bilotta.

The new collection of uniforms – the perfect balance between classic and practical – is inspired by two fundamental elements: style and hospitality. The innately elegant outfits are contemporary, classic, and practical. The lines are glamorous and flattering, inspired by the 1950s, the period in which Kuwait Airways was founded. The choice of color alternates navy blue - a tribute to the company - with beige, in the golden and unmistakable shade of the desert sand.
The characteristic trait is the use of jacquard fabric, which alongside solid color creates a distinctive look that identifies the airline, with a diamond-like design with multiple faces for a three-dimensional effect. The fabrics are made of a wool blend, a natural fiber, which guarantees both comfort and greater safety thanks to its low flammability. Ettore Bilotta has developed a true total look, complete with bags, gloves, scarves, hats and belts, which create an immediate impact that conveys a feeling of quality, care and affluence.
“The new image of Kuwait Airways, on its 70th anniversary, will not invalidate its vocation, that of flying with calm sophistication,” said Ettore Bilotta. “I would like to thank the CEO of Kuwait Airlines Maeen Razouqi for choosing me for this important project to relaunch the company. Kuwait and its people have been a great inspiration for me in the creation of the uniforms, in which I sought to instill the innate elegance of its population and the sinuous beauty of the country, a small and precious diamond set in the crown of the Persian Gulf.”

The uniforms designed by Ettore Bilotta will be worn by the crews starting from May 2023 and will remain on board for the next 5 years. The couturier has many important collaborations to his credit, including the creation of the flight crew uniforms of leading international airlines, including Etihad, Alitalia and Turkish Airlines. 2023 opens with the new collaboration with Kuwait Airways.
An Italian couturier, Bilotta began his training in high fashion, at the atelier of the historic Lancetti maison in Rome and then at the Raffaella Curiel atelier in Milan. Subsequently, he founded his own atelier and the brand that bears his name and debuted in 2005 with a collection presented at Rome Fashion Week. A pret-a-porter line was soon added to the couture collection, which featured the same style that has made Ettore Bilotta one of the best-loved designers in Italian fashion. He has continued since then to design elegant collections for customers who like to dress in an exclusive manner – as haute couture requires – as well as uniforms for major airlines.
