It is one of the most prestigious jewelry fairs in the Middle East and this year reaches its fiftieth edition: a golden jubilee with participation for the very first time by Latin America and Africa. It goes without saying that Italy and the Made in Italy label represent the lion's share. With 47 participating companies, the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show in Sharjah is now an unmissable event for Italian jewelry.
From unique pieces designed for a wealthy and demanding clientele, to high-end jewelry that uses the finest techniques and materials or simpler and less expensive jewels for everyday use, the exclusive Italian Lounge is the national showcase organized by ICE and CNA (Italian Confederation of Crafts and SMEs), in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in the United Arab Emirates and the Consulate General in Dubai.

The emirate of Sharjah, which in 2019 was designated as one of the 66 UNESCO Creative Cities, is a treasure full of history and traditions that rises north of Dubai on the coast of the Arabian Gulf.
Famous for its strong artistic and cultural vocation, cultivated with wisdom and foresight by the royal family, the emirate has about twenty museums and numerous artistic events held throughout the year. Renowned for its Art Foundation, its Biennale, the March Meeting and its artist Residency Programs, Sharjah is the ideal setting for Italian flair and creativity, for which the Arab Emirates together form the third largest country for jewelry exports.
Everything shines at the Sharjah fair, which is spread over a total area of 30,000 square meters with over five hundred exhibitors. Thanks to the increase in tourist traffic generated by Expo 2020 Dubai and the sentiment of high-spending consumers and residents, last year demand increased in the Emirates by 57% to 33.8 tons of jewelry. Here Italy’s gold exports, according to ICE, reached EUR 1 billion

What is certain is that the fair promises to satisfy everyone's needs. Even those who rely on luck. On the closing day, Saturday, October 9, visitors can participate in an incredible lottery open to anyone who spends more than 500 dirhams, equal to just over EUR 100. The final Visit-Shop-Win event is giving away one kilo of gold and several diamond sets. According to Madame Coco Chanel, “Luxury is a necessity that begins where necessity ends.”
