Luxury brand Prada has just launched Eternal Gold, its first jewelry collection, a novelty made with recycled gold. The Milan-based company made its own debut back in 1913 and has been combining precious materials with Italian craftsmanship ever since.
The idea is now to create unique eternal objects that will stand the test of time
The idea is now to create unique eternal objects that will stand the test of time, inherent in the notion of jewelry, with a collection made from sustainable sources. Prada’s signature triangle peeps out on each piece of Eternal Gold, creating patterns with the diamonds’ facets. There are snake-shaped bracelets, heart motifs, chain necklaces, and ribbon chokers. The jewels are set to great effect against oversized pendants and knits, expressing strength, presence, and passion.
Prada's recycled gold comes exclusively from suitable sources of recycled materials, including industrial gold and post-consumer precious objects, fully compliant with due diligence. Prada works exclusively with suppliers of metals and precious stones that meet the highest industry standards in terms of human rights, occupational safety, environmental impact, and business ethics.
Il 100% dell’oro utilizzato per la collezione è infatti riciclato certificato
Prada works exclusively with suppliers of metals and precious stones that meet the highest industry standards in terms of human rights, occupational safety, environmental impact, and business ethics. Limiting the extraction of new gold benefits both the environment and human rights. Prada also expands the concept of traceability for diamonds of all sizes, which customarily is only possible for diamonds from 0.5 carats and up. This applies to the entire value chain, as every step in the life of each diamond can be traced, from extraction and cutting to setting and polishing.
100% of the gold used for the collection is certified as recycled and compliant with the chain of custody standards set by the Responsible Jewelry Council. All the responsible production phases of the gold and diamonds are verifiable and traceable, which is a first for the jewelry industry. Prada customers can verify the authenticity of their articles on the Aura Consortium Blockchain platform and trace every relevant aspect of their origin, design, and production. To celebrate this new collection, Prada has launched a campaign featuring celebrities such as the award-winning American poet and activist Amanda Gorman, the American actress, model, and songwriter Maya Hawke, and the Canadian-born Korean musician Jeon Somi.
