Celebrating 102 years of history with a tribute to those models that, as a result of the talent of creative directors and master craftsmen, helped build the Gucci myth. This is the new exhibition inaugurated in Florence during Pitti Uomo 104, Gucci Vision, which came to life at the Gucci Garden, the space where the Kering Group's two-G fashion house has been initiating its dialogue between fashion and art for years.
The visitor finds himself immersed in an itinerary that starts with an illustrated chronology to reveal with dates, events, and key figures the diachrony of Gucci's history
On the three floors of the 14th-century Florentine palace, visitors find themselves immersed in an itinerary that starts with an illustrated chronology to reveal with dates, events and key figures the diachrony of Gucci's history. Then on the first and second floors are the eight thematic rooms, which stand alone and can be visited in any order.
Among showcases of crystals and mirrors is the homage to the Bamboo bag, which has remained virtually unchanged since the 1960s, the GG monogram and the Flora motif, which explodes in the last room in an immersive multimedia installation. But there is also the room devoted to Gucci's luggage, inspired by tradition but designed for today's traveler, and a gallery of stunning gowns created for celebrities over the decades by Tom Ford, Frida Giannini and Alessandro Michele, up to the House's pioneering presence in the uncharted territories of the Metaverse, revealing the extent of Gucci's commitment to achieving a resolutely avant-garde vision.
The selection of handbags, luggage, and garments also demonstrates how the House's savoir faire remains anchored in a series of creative conversations that transcend temporal boundaries, between Guccio Gucci's original vision, the pioneering work of his children, and the power of imagination demonstrated by the most recent creatives who have made their mark on the House, each of whom has nurtured and enriched the brand's vision soon to be interpreted by new arrival, Sabato De Sarno.
