Rediscover the landscape of a vineyard by becoming a child again. You can in Pramaggiore the Stajnbech winery has placed its Big Bench, the first ever in the province of Venice and the sixth in Veneto. A giant bench that following the philosophy of the Big Bench Community Project - an international project conceived by U.S. designer Chris Bangle, aimed at promoting and fostering territories, local communities, tourism and artisan excellence - can be used by anyone.
Yellow and white, 2 meters and 30 centimeters high and 3 meters and 20 centimeters long, a decidedly outsized format, it is located in the Casa Vecchia vineyard in Belfiore di Pramaggiore, not far from the company's headquarters.
Although owned by the winery, Stajnbech allows free access, 24 hours a day, seven days a week: the bench is easily accessible via signage
"We chose the colors of our Big Bench, yellow and white, inspired by the expanse of flowers that covered the meadows in the spring," explains Rebecca Valent of Stajnbech. "It is no coincidence that it is called the bench of happiness because sitting here, on this veritable work of art nestled in our vineyards, at a vantage point near the Loncon River, you can admire the surrounding area from a previously unseen observatory, with the same emotions of awe and wonder as when you were a child and everything seemed so big to us.
Although owned by the winery, Stajnbech allows free access, 24 hours a day, seven days a week: the bench is easily accessible via signage.
Visiting "benchers" also are issued with a special passport, or affixed with a stamp in case they already have one, to collect the stamps of the 297 giant benches made so far in Europe.
The one in Pramaggiore is number 293 and, as Mayor Fausto Pivetta pointed out at the inauguration, it represents an added value for the town and will be included as a tourist attraction in the town's references.
