Embroidered crystals, sparkle-effect dresses, jackets for him and for her and lots of black leather. Once again, for the second evening of Sanremo, the stage of the Ariston Theater is also a catwalk.
After the manifesto looks created by Maria Grazia Chiuri (Dior) for Chiara Ferragni, Francesca Fagnani - co-host alongside Amadeus and Morandi - was sophisticated and impeccable in Armani. With her hair loose and natural, Francesca wore three different outfits by Giorgio Armani Privé, with sparkling diamonds in jewelry by Pasquale Bruni.
She made here entrance in a black sheer tulle gown with a plunging V-neckline, long sleeves, nude details and a soft skirt covered in crystals. The next outfit featured slim-leg toreador pants with a silk waistband and crossover beaded top, with Roger Vivier pumps with a crystal buckle. She concluded with a black lace dress over a nude underlay.
The iridescent effect is the definite trend of the event. Confirmed with the large embroidered flowers on Amadeus’ jackets (Gai Mattiolo), the weave of Gianni Morandi's more discreet tuxedos (Armani) and the luminous look (Dior) chosen by Giorgia for her return to the Sanremo stage.
An electric blue, sparkling sleeveless blouse with matching shorts created in a fabric embroidered with crystals in a diamond pattern. It’s still all about the sparkle in the ties worn by Article 31 (Iceberg), in the cascading crystals on LDA’s jacket and pants (Marsem), and in the zigzag decoration on the Missoni suit worn by Lazza and even the eccentric total look flaunted by Paola and Chiara, squeezed into sheath dresses literally covered in sequins by Dolce&Gabbana.
Levante regaled us with a touch of rock in a short black leather jumpsuit (Etro), as did Rosa Chemical, who channeled her inner Edward Scissorhands with super-long nails and a black suit broken up by a leather bustier. Shari also showed character and audacity, the only artist to dare with animalier style in a leopard-print dress (Dolce&Gabbana).
Even the jackets took center stage. Often with oversized shoulders, like that worn by Madame (Off-White) as a mini dress over thigh-high white boots like something out of Star Wars; minimal like the suits worn by Colapesce Dimartino (Paul Smith) or decidedly retro like the velvet tuxedo with peak lapel worn by Tananai (Gucci).

For the 73rd edition of the Sanremo Festival, the trend is certainly classic (even a bit retro)
